ReleaseGate helps merchants manage product release dates and prevent purchases before a configured release time. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.

Data We Access

ReleaseGate accesses product information needed to display, search, and update release settings. This can include product titles, handles, IDs, status, images, and product metafields used by the app.

If a merchant enables storefront activity messages, ReleaseGate may store short-lived anonymous browser signals for product page views and cart-add activity. These signals use a random browser identifier and are used only to show recent activity counts selected by the merchant.

If a merchant enables recent sales messages, ReleaseGate may process order creation webhooks to store product IDs, order IDs, line item IDs, quantities, and order timestamps for the limited purpose of displaying recent product sales counts. ReleaseGate does not store customer names, email addresses, shipping addresses, billing addresses, or payment details for this feature.

Customer Data

ReleaseGate does not collect, store, or process protected customer data. The app is focused on product availability and release timing.

How Data Is Used

Product data is used only to provide the app features selected by the merchant, such as setting release dates, showing release information, displaying recent activity or sales counts, and validating availability before checkout where supported.

Data Retention

App settings are retained while the app is installed. When the app is uninstalled, stored shop data and app settings are removed or made inaccessible according to Shopify app requirements.

Anonymous storefront activity signals are short-lived and are pruned automatically. They are also removed when the shop data is deleted.

Product sale count records are kept only for recent aggregation and are pruned automatically. They are also removed when the app is uninstalled.
